(NH4)2SO4 is a white crystal at room temperature. It is soluble in water. Its melting point is 235 ̊C (455 ̊F), density 1.77 g/cm3. (NH4)2SO4 can be used as fertilizer.

Example Reactions:
• 2NH3 + H2SO4 = (NH4)2SO4
• Cr(NO2)2 + (NH4)2SO4 = CrSO4 + 2NH4NO2
• (NH4)2SO4 + Ca(OH)2 = CaSO4 + 2NH3 + 2H2O
• H2SO4 + 2NH4OH = 2H2O + (NH4)2SO4
• (NH4)2SO4 + 2KOH = K2SO4 + 2NH3 + 2H2O
• CuSO4 + 2NH4OH = Cu(OH)2 + (NH4)2SO4
• Na2O + (NH4)2SO4 = Na2SO4 + 2NH3 + H2O
• MgSO4 + 2NH4OH = Mg(OH)2 + (NH4)2SO4
• (NH4)2SO4 + Pb(NO3)2 = PbSO4 + 2NH4NO3
• (NH4)2SO4 + Ba(NO3)2 = BaSO4 + 2NH4NO3
