K2CrO4 is a yellow powder at room temperature. It is soluble in water. Its melting point is 968 ̊C (1774.4 ̊F), density 2.732 g/cm3. K2CrO4 can be used as an oxidizing agent.

Example Reactions:
• K2CrO4 + Pb(NO3)2 = PbCrO4 + 2KNO3
• BaCl2 + K2CrO4 = BaCrO4 + 2KCl
• K2CrO4 + PbCl2 = 2KCl + PbCrO4
• 2AgNO3 + K2CrO4 = Ag2CrO4 + 2KNO3
• CrI2 + 24KOH + 10Cl2 = 2KIO4 + K2CrO4 + 12H2O + 20KCl
• K2CrO4 + Ba(NO3)2 = 2KNO3 + BaCrO4
• Ba(OH)2 + K2CrO4 = 2KOH + BaCrO4
• 2KOH + H2CrO4 = K2CrO4 + 2H2O
• CuCl2 + K2CrO4 = CuCrO4 + 2KCl
• K2CrO4 + 2AgCH3COO = Ag2CrO4 + 2KCH3COO
